NOTAP Plans for 2025 NITTF Selection

September 19, 2025

The National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) is concluding arrangements for the 2025 Scholarship selection of candidates under NOTAP-Industry Technology Transfer Fellowship (NITTF) scheme. The selection interview, which was earlier scheduled for the middle of August 2025, was shifted to a later date to allow more brilliant Nigerians to participate in the process.

While giving reasons for shifting the selection process, the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of NOTAP, Dr. Obiageli Amadiobi said that it was necessary to shift the selection date to enable more highly brilliant and result-oriented Nigerians to take part in the processes and make it more competitive.

Dr. Amadiobi stated that the NITTF scheme is a tripartite programme, developed by the Office in synergy with private companies operating in Nigeria, and the Nigerian Universities. She emphasizes that the scheme is aimed at producing highly skilled manpower that will be in high demand by Universities, as well as companies.

She said that it is meant for brilliant Nigerians who have acquired master’s degrees and are willing and desirous of obtaining their PhD in any Nigerian University in a topic that will be determined by the sponsoring company. The DG said that the programme was launched in 2015 with the first companies, including Julius Berger, Airtel, and Nestle Nigerian Plc, making financial commitments for the programme.

Amadiobi explained that there is a strong synergy among NOTAP, the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities, and the National University Committee. She added that these bodies are involved in the sensitization of the Nigerian students to ensure fair treatment for all Nigerians.
