Countdown to the Maiden NOTAP Technology and Innovation Summit 2025

As we countdown to the maiden edition of the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion, NOTAP, Technology and Innovation Summit 2025, the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of NOTAP, Dr. Obiageli Amadiobi has called on captains of industries, knowledge institutions, investors and other stakeholders within Nigeria’s Science, Technology and Innovation ecosystem to collaborate towards a transformative national innovation agenda.

Speaking with the media in her Abuja head Office, the DG said that Nigerian had depended so much on foreign technologies to power all sectors of the her economy, adding that the summit will be a convergence of key leaders from government, private sector, academia, development partners, and the startup ecosystem to explore strategies for strengthening Nigerian’s innovation landscape and positioning the nation as a hub for technology-driven growth.

The Technology and Innovation Summit which has its theme as “Harnessing R&D and Innovation Potentials of Nigeria’s STI Ecosystem” is  scheduled to hold on Thursday, 6th and Friday, 7th November, 2025 at THE HALL, 16 Musa Yar’Adua Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, commencing daily at 9:00AM.

Dr. Obiageli Amadiobi emphasized that the Summit will serve as a strategic platform to foster dialogue and action around innovation policy, technology transfer, intellectual property, and commercialization. “Our goal is to accelerate the transfer of research and creativity in commercially viable enterprises that drive national development,“ she added.

She stated that the Summit will also be an opportunity for formal unveiling of one of NOTAPs new flagship projects, the Nigerian Outsourcing Value Accelerator (NOVA) project, being championed by the Agency to establish a sustainable framework and platform to groom the tech-savvy Nigerian youths on multi-sectoral skills. These skills would be outsourced to the various sectors of the economy, thus ensuring optimized knowledge transfer processes and provision of tech-based solutions.

According to the DG, project NOVA is another testament of NOTAP’s burning desire to ensure that indigenous competency is effectively integrated into the lifestyle of Nigeria’s teaming youths, through the effective multi-sectoral deployment of science, technology and innovation.
